"Although President Obama has put off an immigration overhaul until next year, the federal agency in charge of approving visas is planning ahead for the possibility of giving legal status to millions of illegal immigrants, the agency’s director said Thursday.
“We are under way to prepare for that,” Alejandro Mayorkas, the director of the agency, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, said in an interview. Mr. Obama has told immigration officials that a legalization program would be part of legislation the White House would propose, said Mr. Mayorkas, who became director in August. I would also suggest to take an infopass and request for MTR - Motion to Reopen the case...to evaluate the decision. Go ahead and apply for 485 and do MTR, simultaneously.

Part of the problem is the employers do not have a long term plan for their companies. They are always on look out for a fast buck. If employee satisfaction and client satisfaction are more, the company has better chance of growing. Typically when the client is satisfied, the company gets more projects and this way the set-up costs like relocation, travel expenses come down. Companies can not break the law just because they are not able to make a profit.

Indian employer sent experience letter only after I officially resigned. That experience letter shows as an employee including our stay here in H4. We can't change the letter. This is happened to many of my friend's spouses. No question asked. If this is not the case no one will get the H1B approval.

Status is still initial review on 485 and when checked with infopass I was told that my case in in extended review.

I have the same problem. My application mailed to NE at July 13th. Now I am looking at a receipt on Sep. 7th. Funny I fax a letter to NE on Sep. 6th after the long wait. Then my application was transfered to Texas the very next day and issued a receipt notice on Sep. 7th.
I am thinking the worker is trying to cover for his or her irresponsibility. Of course I have no prove of such, but the paper work never lies.

You can bind them quite easily, assuming your data sources implement the correct interfaces (I believe IBindable/IBindableList).
You would use the metadata table to fill the list for the combobox and then bind the list to the 'degree' fields on your persons table
There are numerous ways to actually accomplish this, I'll run through a straight forward method using the datasource wizard
1. Drop a combobox onto the page
2. Go to the 'Data Sources' window which is usually docked on the left and add a new data source
3. Pick your data provider (I've picked database)
4. Set up your connection to connect to the database. I've just included the connection data in the application for the sake of simplicity
5. Choose the table you wish to bind to - this will be the 'metadata' table with your degrees
6. Finish the wizard, now in the datasources window you should have your table visible.
7. Drag the whole table onto the combobox
8. The program will assign the DisplayMember and ValueMember of the combobox automatically, you can modify it in the combobox properties - the ValueMember is the underlying identifier (the ID column) whereas the DisplayMember is the value you will actually see in the box
9. Repeat steps 1-6 to add your 'persons' table to the datasources window (you can use the same connection as you used before, you won't need to add another)
10. Once you have added the persons table, in the datasources window expand the persons table so you can see all of the actual columns of the table.
11. Find the column you will be binding to (the degree1 column for instance) and drag that onto the combobox.
12. Finished!
Of course you will need to make sure that a certain record from your persons table is selected as the datasource contains a record pointer - you can always drop a BindingNavigator control on there and associate it with the datasource but it does look a bit 'Microsoft Accesss' so I don't use them. Of course you will probably be getting to your persons form via a persons list in the first place so naturally you will be passing in the persons 'ID' and finding that person in the table using the ID

Visual Studio tends to be quite intelligent in this respect - if you drag a data column onto a bindable control it knows that it should bind the 'value' of that control to the data source. Premium on 140 has nothing to do with expedition of 485. Later depends on Priority Dates , Visa Numbers , Name check results etc ... etc... If you get 140 approved on Premium then the only advantange is that you can Trigger AC21 to change your Job after 180 days of 485 filing WITH A PEACE OF MIND.
Otherwise if your 140 is hanging and you invoke AC21 and by chance that 140 gets a rough RFE or gets denied for some reason your 485 will be denied immediatly and you are in deep waters.
Has USCIS started premium processing of I-140 again ? Can you please send me the link ?
What happens if one has filed I-140 concurrently with 485 ? Does 485 gets expedited too ?

1) Since when have you been in US, rather first time when did you come to US
2) Did you never leave US after 1999. This is because the status really matters only since your last arrival on visa. Earlier records do not matter as per 245(k) memo. This question will help other forum members who have some kind of status violation

Since then, I have worked and obtained H1-B and am in the last stage of I-485. PD is ROW (of course) and biometrics code 3 was done a while ago. Hence, I believe USCIS requested RFE since 1999; the last time I travelled out of the country.
I always maintain a legal status.

Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?

Simple, Employer got audited and had a denial ! Second almost all software related EB2 PERM/I140 gets audited, if not you are in that 0-5% ;)
