Ah, but Apple won't let us sell it in our own store!
I guess you could say "There's a droid for that", but following my analogy it would be just like a swap meet with a big seller taking up the central aisles.
But that doesn't mean that now you can reach everyone. The Android swap meet excludes BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian, WinMo and Apple customers. You end up with a smaller customer base, with such a diverse set of user needs that you end up pulling your hair out trying to meet every Android phone manufacturer's device specs.

Looking at the figures right now anyone can easily see that iOS is not the dominating platform. Not even the second most popular (which is Symbian), but does anyone really care ? Same case with the Macs and Mac OS X.
I would really like to see Microsoft step up the game because in the end, we customers are the ones receiving most benefit.
I had been a loyal Windows user (up to Windows 7) when I switched to Mac last year. My take is that Windows and its creators are not technically inferior to Mac OS and Apple, but their corporate philosophy has never sported the acumen and, guess what, common sense with which Steve Jobs creates such reliable, handsome products.

I'm as pro gun rights as anyone, but this sounds like a problem for the security guard. Unless that guard's life was in danger, there was no reason to shoot anyone, especially in the head. The placement of that shot was no accident.
That being said, I'm sure there are a lot of facts we don't know. Innocent until proven guilty, of course.

You know, thinking about this right now, it makes sense that they could possibly release the Merom MBP at this event. Apple could use the pitch:
"Bored? Feel like watching a movie? Forgot to pack your favorite DVD from home? NO PROBLEM! Now you can use your new MBP and an internet connection to watch your movie anytime and anywhere from the new iTunes movie store! From planes, to hotels, to the long boring seminars, where you sit in the back, as long as you can get connected, it's showtime!"
And that would be a great opportunity to introduce the new line. Granted, you can do all of that with the current stuff now, but I'm just being optimistic. :D

At least something to keep the rumor mill buzzing ...
Maybe "one more thing" comes later in the week, then.

Apple has never cared about the user, this is not news. Apple only care about one thing: money
What does this even mean? "Apple has never cared about the user?" Perhaps you can teach us, then, how Apple has enjoyed so much success despite "never caring for the user."
Or was it simply fun to write those sentences?

What programs do you consider to be 'forced charity?'
Likely any money spent by the government that he doesn't agree with. ;)

I'll think about it. I think it's covered by "video to tv via dvi>hdmi cable for hdtv or analogue connection for sdtv". Which you obviously missed?
Try looking at the pic again. And read the stuff. All of it.
Read my previous post :)

Woot Woot! Its a little sad though, about the SB IGP :(
Yeah, I'm still unconvinced the Intel IGP is on par with NVIDIA's 320M IGP.

Nobody wants the 24". That's why they stopped making it. It was useless.
Sure it is useless; I've been using one for what, 2 years now? ;)

Reasonably plausible - by then, Nokia will probably have a dozen suck-phones that are roughly comparable to *today's* phones that'll all run WP7 and sell like hotcakes in the developing world...

Do the new Cingular phones with iTunes still have the 100 song limit? It is a ridiculously easy restriction to remove if you have the right software and access to a PC. I've got about 150 songs on my SLVR, which is all that will really fit on a 512MB card.

How? Not unless I buy airfoil?
It is $25, not the end of the world. And it seems you also have to buy each iOS device you want to stream to, they do not come free with a new Mac.

But it is an "app store".
According to Microsoft it's a market. No one calls the local farmers market a store yet everyone knows you can purchase products there.

The police should not be able to detain you without probable cause. PERIOD. If you are doing nothing wrong the cops should not stop you, EVER.
It's the reason they publish notice of checkpoints -- you're considered to have consented to being stopped if you drive through a checkpoint after notice has been published.
It's why I'm shocked Congress is targeting an app that gives that notice. They're attacking the very leg of Constitutional support these checkpoints stand on.

I think its pretty reasonable...Nokia has a big market share...its a huge company, I highly expect that Nokia will pass iOS, considering Nokia has a range of devices(many of which will run Windows Phone 7) while Apple likes to keep one or two models around, both of which are rather pricey devices.
I'm going to be that Nokia is going to press Microsoft to let Windows Phone 7 to have requirements lower then top of the line in an effort to get their devices through out the world.

This really doesn't matter. Apple will update stuff tomorrow. Steve likes to wait for tuesdays cuz he's a rockstar like that. :D
Apple announced the Intel iMac and MBP like 5-7 days after Yonah was brought out at the begining of Jan. It'll be announced tomorrow (75%) or next Tuesday (25%), but no later than that.

But since everyone's discussing MBP's, I guess it fits.
I know the Merom chip is compatible with the current boards in the CD MBP, but I've never heard anyone actually say that a CD MBP can be upgraded by simply dropping in a Merom chip. Will this be possible?

Oh well, there goes all my enthusiasm... Thunderbolt is dead.
USB 3 is slower, uglier, more gummed up with kruft but the masses are comfortable with it so everything will use it. Thunderbolt will go the way of FireWire.
Ugh.
